Damp Proofing London

Listed Building Damp Proofing, London.

Background:

The refurbishment of this listed building in Mayfair required a solution to resolve rising damp at ground floor level.

The building is listed and of historical importance. The conservation team required a system that was reversible, minimised damage to the historic building fabric and that did not introduce chemicals into the structure.

Specification:

The walls were internally sealed against dampness and salt contamination using Delta PT Slimline Membrane fixed with Delta Plugs.

The integrated mesh on the surface of the Delta PT Slimline Membrane allows for the direct application of plasterboard by dot and dab or ever the application of renders including lime mortars. Delta Fleece Tape was used to seal and isolate the joints.

To minimise the build up on the floor Delta FM was used. This is a heavy duty waterproof and vapour proof floor membrane that will isolate the timber floor finishes from the damp original ground floor slab.

Service penetrations through the membranes were sealed using Delta Corner Strip to provide an effective vapour proof seal.
